This CD is dedicated to Anne’s uncle Åsbjoern and aunt Guri who served in Ethiopia as a surgeon and a nurse for the majority of their lives. They were sadly killed (while on a break in Norway from their work in Ethiopia) in a car accident in 2003 with their grandson Isak (9). They will all forever be missed and remembered for their fantastic work and dedication to others.
Anne: (45) A midwife who in 2006 first travelled to Ethiopia to visit different hospitals and health centres in the rural areas. Here she witnessed the poor conditions and lack of care that pregnant women had to endure, and as a result decided something had to be done. She loves to sing, and this first CD was seen as a worthwile money raising project. Her hope is that donations raised in return for the recording of this collection of songs will go towards better obstetric care for the women of Ethiopia. While on her visit in 2006 she also had the opportunity of seeing the new woman's ward being built at the hospital in Arba Minch, which is funded by other members of her family and in memory of the late Dr. Åsbjørn and his wife.
Philip: (16) Anne's youngest son who also loves to sing and wanted to help his mother with the Ethiopia project. He came to Ethiopia for the opening of the new department at the hospital in Arba Minch September/October 2008 and was very excited to finally get to see this beautiful country his mother has grown so fond of!
Bjørn: (45) Anne's brother in law who was the toastmaster at Anne' husband's 50th birthday party (where The Ethiopia Fund first started). He loves to sing and play the harmonica, and took the party by storm singing "Mustang Sally," the only song he admits to know well enough to perform. Hopefully there will be many more to come in the future!

Anne: The previous CD "Singing for the Women of Ethiopia" (Dec.2007) has so far been made in 1500 copies, distributed to many parts of the world and collected 25.000 pounds (250.000 kr). These donations have supported the education of Midwives and Health Officers in South-west Ethiopia. So far 200 Midwives and 10 Health Officers (performing Caesarean sections) have finished their training and started work at health centres/small hospitals out in the rural areas where the need for obstetric medical care is most crucial for reducing maternal/neonatal death and all the horrific disability they so easily can suffer, like Fistulas.
The training of Midwives and Health officers is a continues project but as they are supported financially by Norad (Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation), the contributions from this CD will support the new Fistula Department at Arba Minch Hospital which was built in memory of my Uncle and Aunt Dr.Aasbjoern and Guri Aarsland. This department does not receive any support from other organisations. I have visited Ethiopia twice since 2006 and cannot wait to hopefully be back in November 2010 to hand over the contributions collected from this CD.
Thank you so much for your support!
Wendy: My dear friend from Vox Mundi, the international choir that for years I have been a member of. She has one of the most wonderful personalities and such a cool voice. I am so happy and proud that she joined me on "Can't Help Loving That Man." Thank you Wendy!
Bjørn: My charming brother in law with the softest voice no one, even himself, knew existed. He joined me on the first album in contributing ‘Mustang Sally’. This time around he has dared to join me in a duet on "Quando, Quando, Quando" and what a great job he has done! Thank you Bjørn!
